Eco Friendly House
The houses at Bin el Oiudane, for the most part, are made from the materials at hand. Rocks skillfuly shaped by the local stone masons then set in the clay-like earth, mixed with water. The roofs are made by laying wooden beams, then crisscrossed with sticks of about an inch round and four feet in length, finally covered by the earth and tampered into place.
The cost of wood is high in Morocco (two Euros for three sticks)which is causing the newer buildings to be made from modern alternatives. |
